A new guesthouse for arts, sciences, and humanities about to be created in Évora

We are about to seal a deal to purchase a 16th Century Mantion that used to belong to the 'Morgado do Esporão'. The house is right at the centre of the old town of Évora, next to the site where Vasco da Gama lived prior to his departure to the Ocean voyage to India and a few steps from the Roman Temple of Diana. The house was abandoned nearly 30 years ago and will now be converted into a guesthouse for artists, researchers and other creative minds.

Offering exclusive self-catered and affordable homes for professionals of science, arts, and humanities is just one of our ambitions. The long-term vision is to contribute to establishing Évora as one of the most vibrant scientific and cultural hubs of southern Europe. We will do so by promoting an intensive programme of scientific meetings, workshops, and high-level training events.

In this blog you will find updates about important news regarding the development of the project and about events taking place at the residence. Stay tuned!
